Privacy and Data Processing Policy

Last Updated: 08/20/2026

At Shelfkat (https://shelfkat.store), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our platform.

1. What Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with Shelfkat, we collect two types of data:

  • Merchant Data (Your data): When you create an account, we collect your name, email address (via Google), phone number, and the store information you configure.
  • Buyer Data (End Customers): When using the catalog and the WhatsApp ordering system, the platform processes the data of the customers that you or your store upload (name, phone number, and order details).
  • Usage Data: Basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, and how you interact with our dashboard, through the use of essential cookies.

2. How We Use the Information

We use your Merchant data exclusively to:

  • Operate and maintain the service (catalog creation and order management).
  • Process payments and issue billing through our authorized payment provider.
  • Provide technical support and communicate about service updates.
  • Prevent fraud and maintain the security of our infrastructure.

Important: On public catalogs, the products, descriptions, and images you publish will be visible to anyone on the internet.

3. Who We Share the Information With

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We only share strictly necessary information with trusted service providers who help us operate, such as:

  • Hosting Providers: To keep the platform securely online.
  • Payment Provider (Merchant of Record): To process your subscription (e.g., Dodo Payments.io, Dodo Payments, etc.). They process your financial data under their own privacy policies; Shelfkat does not store credit card numbers.
  • Transactional Email Services: For sending notifications and support responses.

4. Legal Roles (Controller vs. Processor)

Regarding the data of your end customers (buyers), you (the Merchant) are the Data Controller and you must ensure that you have legal consent to collect their information and contact them via WhatsApp. Shelfkat acts solely as the Data Processor, limiting itself to temporarily storing this information so that your catalog functions properly.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, update, or request the deletion of your account and personal data at any time. To exercise these rights or if you have any questions about this policy, please write to us at support@shelfkat.store.
