Customize your store
The Design editor's 8 steps: style, brand, cover, header, welcome text, collection, cards and footer, with a live preview.
Quick answer
Your store's whole look is changed under Design, in 8 steps: 1 Style, 2 Brand and colors, 3 Cover, 4 Header and announcement, 5 Welcome text, 6 Collection and filters, 7 Cards and cart, and 8 Footer and leads. On the right you see the live preview (phone or computer). Nothing changes in your store until you click Save theme.
On this page
Go to Design in the menu. The screen has three columns:
- Customize your store: the list of 8 steps. You can jump to any of them.
- The current step, with Back and Next below.
- Preview, which updates live. At the top you switch between phone and computer or expand it. Below, View my store opens the real store.
When you change something, the Unsaved changes bar appears with Discard and Save theme.
Step 1: Style#
Your store's base: Classic, Centered, Modern or Boutique. You can adjust each part afterward.
Step 2: Brand and colors#
Logo and its shape, the colors (brand, secondary, text, accent, background and description) and the title and body typography. Full guide in Logo and banner.
Step 3: Cover#
The large image at the top (minimum 1600 × 400 px), its crop, the cover color and the name's alignment.
Step 4: Header and announcement#
- Announcement bar: a thin strip at the very top for short notices (shipping, promotions, hours).
- Header type: Classic (logo and name based on the style) or Bar (a row with logo, name, favorites and cart always at hand).
- Your brand text: shows or hides your store's description (written in Settings) and the help text.
Step 5: Welcome text#
- Big welcome phrase: the large text below the cover (e.g.: Encuentra tu próximo favorito — Find your next favorite).
- Page text: change the default text, like the help line under the name (Tap a product to see all the photos…), the analytics notice, or the subscription title. Leaving them blank uses the default text.
Step 6: Collection and filters#
- Collection heading: a title above your products, with how many there are and the search box next to it.
- Categories: Dropdown, Pills, Image carousel, Visual grid or Hidden. See Categories.
- Further down: how products are sorted and filtered.
Step 7: Cards and cart#
- Card layout: Photo on top (the usual grid) or Photo beside (photo on one side and price, colors and sizes on the other; one per row on mobile).
- What the card shows: the product subtitle, the favorites heart, and name and price on the same line.
- Card design: borders (Square, Soft, Rounded), the order of the content (title, price, attributes, stock, quantity), the price size, and the strikethrough price.
Step 8: Footer and leads#
- Closing line: a short phrase at the end of your products.
- Final strip: a highlighted block with a button to message you on WhatsApp, open a link, or a page of your store.
- Footer: layout (Simple and centered or One row with your brand), the phrase next to your brand, the footer text, and the Created by ShelfKat link.
- Capture customers: a window inviting your visitors to leave their name and WhatsApp. That data lands in Contacts.
Tip
Change one thing at a time, check the preview on phone (most of your customers buy from their phone), and click Save theme once you like it.
